On the radio - 

Menu 21 and 22 to change the frequency display to the name display

Menu 34 to turn TDR Channel A/B

Menu 14 to turn Voice off

Menu 7 to turn TDR on

If the radio beeps with PTT  - get flexible - Push and hold PTT A/Monitor/and Pound while turning the radio on.
