Screen Resolutions/ Multiple Displays

In System > Display you will find the settings to change your resolution and set up multiple screens. 

The boxes tell you the amount of screens you have connected, and which order they are in. To change the arrangement of the screens, click and drag the boxes with your mouse to match how the displays physically are.

Clicking once on the box will select it, allowing you to make individual changes to each screen.

"Identify" will pop a number on the lower left of your screen showing you which screen is assigned which number.

The drop down menu to the right of "Identify" will give you the options to duplicate or extend your screen. 

"Duplicate" allows you to have multiples displays show the same screen. (This is the most common option for projectors) 

"Extend" allows you to have each screen be an extension of one screen. (This is the option for having different screens for different tabs/ websites)

Scrolling down, you will find the setting "Display resolution". Clicking it will bring up all available resolutions your screen can display.

The resolution affects the clarity of the display and impacts the size of icons.  Windows will provide what they believe is the best resolution for your screen marked with the (Recommended) tag.  This is usually, but not always, the optimal resolution.

Windows automatically reverts the changes in 15 seconds if you don't confirm.  This is in case the display is no longer readable with the new settings.
