First Login

You’ll see on your first login that it will ask for your email address, instead of just a username.  This will shorten to automatically select your profile for subsequent logins, like it did previously.

This first login will take about 5 minutes as it gets itself configured to our specifications and installs required applications.

Company Portal App Store

You’ll notice that the computer will seem pretty barebones at first.  The “Company Portal” acts as our own app store, where you can install applications without needing to have admin permissions.  If an app you’re looking for isn’t there, you can also now install apps through the Microsoft Store, also without needing admin permissions.  If you can’t find an app in either of those places, let us know and we’ll see if we can add it.

Printing

PaperCut will install automatically.  When it’s ready, it’ll ask you to sign in with Google.  If it doesn’t pop up, go into Settings -> Apps -> Default Apps and go to Google Chrome to set it as the default app.  Once logged in, you’ll have the option to install which printers you need.

Chrome Sync

To get your links and extensions (like Aristotle) to come up, sign in to Chrome with your email credentials and make sure to turn sync on.  To keep Google from repeatedly asking for 2-step verification, remove all guest profiles in Chrome.

File Sync

Your documents and folders will now automatically sync to the cloud if they’re placed in any of these three default folders: Desktop, Documents, or Photos.  Items placed in those three folders (and ONLY in those three) will automatically pop up when you log into a different computer, as long as both are online.  These sync with OneDrive, which is Microsoft’s version of Google Drive.  Google Drive is NOT going away.
